Case Study

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001

As part of our constant efforts to improve the quality of our service we ensure all of our work is covered by ISO 9001. This internationally recognised quality management system ensures that we meet the needs of customers and improve & evolve with those requirements through its 7 principles of customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, continual improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management. These principles help shape a system where our work is lead by the specific individual customer requirements whilst following a standardised procedure. This improves efficiency, quality monitoring and means our multi-skilled workforce can easily interchange and assist each other across a variety of contracts/jobs.

Having been part of the industrial past of Huddersfield since 1903, FredShaw & Co. have always tried to be sustainable. This has lead us to seek accreditation is ISO 14001 as an environmental management system to reduce our environmental impact. This means working towards reducing waste, cutting the management costs of that waste and improving the efficiency of our resources. Working primarily in sheet metal means we have lots of opportunity to recycle or reuse waste materials alongside our waste management partners.

We are proud of our certification of compliance with these two standards. This gives us the foundation to continue to improve our products and services supplied to our customers and to contribute in the global effort to reduce the impact we leave on the planet.

We’d like to thank all of our colleagues for their assistance in this accreditation and give a special mention to our Quality Manager, John Ellis.
